Brushy’s photo gallery

My tour of Brushy’s old haunts begins with Carleton, TX.  After a resident of Hamilton insisted Brushy’s dad’s old house was still standing along the road to Carleton and his real mother was buried near there, we went searching.  There were only two old houses that could have been the ranch of “Wild Henry” but we were never able to make a definite identification.  The cemetery nearby contained many very old unmarked graves but there was no way to identify the grave of Mary Adeline Dunn.  The historical society in Hamilton was unable to help.  Maybe one day these locations will be identified and preserved.  One can always hope!

History still records Billy The Kid’s last walk as a short stroll in his stocking feet to the bedroom of Pete Maxwell.  But we will show you photos of the path along which he truly walked from his last home to his death on the streets of Hico, TX.
